UCR's Center for Entrepreneurs Wins $499K Grant

(12/22/16) The Riverside Entrepreneurial Proof of Concept Center, or Riverside EPIC, is among 35 entrepreneurial organizations in 19 states that will receive a total of $15 million to create and expand their programs. EPIC will receive $499,000 in federal funds in January 2017. Read More…

(12/16/16) The Inland Empire added 9,900 jobs in November on a seasonally adjusted basis, according to a report released today by the UCR School of Business Center for Economic Forecasting and Development. Yes, Companies Can Groom their Next Generation of Star Designers

(12/13/16) In his latest study on extreme performance in the workplace, Haibo Liu, an assistant professor of management in UCR's School of Business, and researchers from INSEAD business school have shown that product designers who collaborate with stars are more likely to emerge as stars themselves than designers who collaborate with non-stars. Inland Empire Economic Growth Accelerates, Boosted By Industry Gains

(11/16/16) The Inland Empire's economic growth jumped in the latest quarter, boosted by gains that ranged from lukewarm to red hot in all but two local industries. The region's real Gross Metropolitan Product (GMP) grew by 2.2 percent in the third quarter, more than double the second quarter growth rate, according a report released today by the University of California, Riverside's School of Business Center for Economic Forecasting and Development. Asian-Owned Firms Growing Faster, Generating Higher Revenues in U.S., California, and Inland Southern California

(6/23/16) A new analysis of recently available U.S. Census data finds that businesses owned by Asians are growing faster in number and generating higher average revenues than 'total' businesses in the United States, California, and Inland Southern California. Within the Inland region, average per firm revenue at Asian-owned businesses exceeded average revenue at total firms in the area by more than $20,000 (6.6%) during the study period. Read More…

Inland Empire Consumers, Businesses Spending More

(6/22/16) Consumer and business spending in the Inland Empire have been gaining considerable traction, particularly in San Bernardino County, which has seen taxable sales growing at more than twice the rate of Riverside County, according to a new analysis released today by the UC Riverside School of Business Administration Center for Economic Forecasting and Development.
