Two marketing professors have been nominated for an award honoring lasting contribution to the marketing field.

(November 10, 2011)

Fortune Magazine refers to recipients of the Paul D. Converse Award as being part of a "Marketing Hall of Fame." Recently, the American Marketing Association (AMA) announced the nomination of two UCR School of Business Administration marketing professors for the prestigious award.

Donna Hoffman and Tom Novak were recently named among fifteen nominees for the 2012 Converse Award. Established by AMA in 1946, the Converse Award honors enduring contributions by scholars to the field of marketing. Contributions such as journal articles or books are eligible for consideration five years after publication to determine their impact.

Hoffman and Novak were nominated for their 1996 Journal of Marketing article, “Marketing in Hypermedia Computer-Mediated Environments: Conceptual Foundations” (843 ISI citations, 2,838 Google Scholar citations), as well as their 2000 Marketing Science article, “Measuring the Customer Experience in Online Environments: A Structural Modeling Approach” (453 ISI citations, 1,261 Google Scholar citations).

Five Converse Award winners will be recognized at the 18th Paul D. Converse Marketing Symposium to be held April 27-28, 2012 at the College ofBusiness at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
