On November 29, the UCR School of Business Administration (SoBA) was pleased to host a meeting of the California Inland Empire District Export Council (CIEDEC). Comprised of Inland Southern California business leaders involved in promoting and expanding global trade within the local community, the group is a key player in the revitalization of the Inland Empire economy.

Dean David W. Stewart said, "The health of both the U.S. economy and the economy of the immediate region depends on world trade and exports. There is enormous opportunity for economic growth in the immediate region through expansion of reports. CIEDEC plays an important role in promoting exports and in educating businesses about the opportunities associated with exporting."

CIEDEC is one of the 60 District Export Councils (DECs) nationwide. The Secretary of Commerce appoints local business leaders to the councils to aid local manufacturers with export opportunities to markets outside of the United States. SoBA is pleased to be a business partner in CIEDEC's efforts at revitalizing the local economy.
