MBA Class of 2016 achieve record employment results

The MBA Class of 2016 reached 90 percent employment within three months of graduation, with an average starting salary of $83,375, which is 17 percent higher or nearly $12,000 more compared to the previous year.

These employment results for the MBA graduating class of 2016 place our school at the same level and above many of the top business schools nationwide.

In addition, our MBA graduates’ starting salary has been increasing steadily year over year. The average starting salary in 2013 was $57K. In 2016, the average starting salary was over $83K, an increase of 46 percent over the last three years, showing the growing value the industry places on our MBA program and its graduates.

The Career Development Center has maintained close connections with leading industries to understand what skills, beyond the curriculum, are most sought after, and provide our students with the coaching and training needed to stand out from the crowd.

“We prepare students to be competitive in the job market, working daily with them, addressing their specific needs, as well as listening to the needs of hiring managers in the industry,” says John Mattson, director of the Graduate Career Development Center at the A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management. “In today’s very competitive job market graduate students, especially those with limited work experience, must develop an array of skills that will help them to stand out in a crowd. And listening to the industry has given us a good indication of how we can best prepare our students for successful careers beyond graduate school.”
