UCR Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma inducted forty-three new student members

 

The UCR Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma inducted its 8th class on May 27th at the Alumni and Visitors Center. Forty-three new members were inducted which included undergraduate students and graduate students from UCR’s School of Business Administration.

Beta Gamma Sigma is the international honor society serving business programs accredited by AACSB International. Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive in a business program accredited by AACSB International. Only the top 10 percent of undergraduates and the top 20 percent of graduates are invited to join Beta Gamma Sigma.

Over 40 guests, which included family, friends, and current BGS members attended. Wendy Emerson, the President of the San Diego BGS alumni chapter welcomed the new inductees and encouraged more collaboration and events with the Southern California chapters. Student President of BGS, Nadeesha Hapaurachchi welcomed the new members with an inspirational speech on the value of making your connections count.

The Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Business Programs, Kazi Mamun, Executive Director of Graduate Programs, Arkadiusz Mironko, the Director of Graduate programs Daniel Chatham led the ceremony with the reading of the letters.

The next step is to start an Inland Empire BGS alumni Chapter. The Induction Ceremony was organized by the Office of Undergraduate Business Programs, coordinated by Elizabeth Tisdale.
