The A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management breaks into the top 100 of U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Graduate Schools.”

(March 16, 2012)

The A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management (AGSM) is among the top 100 graduate business schools in the nation, according to the 2013 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Graduate Schools.”

AGSM, which is housed in the University of California, Riverside School of Business Administration (SoBA), was ranked 97th out of a total 441 schools. It placed ahead of such schools as UC San Diego and all the California State Universities.

Rankings were compiled based on surveys of all MBA programs at graduate business schools accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Criteria included assessments by deans, directors and corporate recruiters, as well as placement success and student selectivity.

In previous years, SoBA has been ranked in the U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Colleges” for its undergraduate business program, where in 2012 it placed 32nd overall among all public universities and 55th among all universities nationwide.

This is the first time SoBA’s graduate school has been ranked.

“This is an important milestone,” said Yunzeng Wang, interim dean of the business school. “For AGSM to jump from being unranked to the top 100 is quite a coup. It is a testimony that our efforts towards quality in teaching and research are paying off. We are proud of this great accomplishment, and are thankful for the combined efforts of our faculty, staff, students and partners for making this happen.”

The UCR School of Business Administration is the flagship business school in Inland Southern California. It is the first professional school of its kind in the region, and is the only one at a research-based institution. Through cutting-edge research on the business challenges of the 21st century, SoBA is positioned as a center of excellence for the Inland Southern California region.
