Transfer Student Mentor Program

The Transfer Student Mentor Program consists of senior level business administration students who serve as mentors to junior transfer students that just started at UC Riverside. The Mentors are available for support and advise about life at UCR, as well as provide professional and/or academic workshops for their Mentees.

Information about specific workshops are emailed directly to the Mentees' UCR email account and posted on our Facebook page. Make sure you 'Like' the page so you can get tips throughout the quarter in addition to news about upcoming events.

Interested in developing your interpersonal skills and becoming a leader? Apply to be a Mentor!

Transfer Student Mentors have a unique opportunity to officially welcome new transfer students at orientation and maintain a professional relationship with assigned Mentees throughout their junior year. Mentors also host an academic and/or professional workshop for their peers at least once per quarter to sharpen their interpersonal and leadership skills.

2016-2017 Transfer Student Mentors:

Vik Dharasker - Mentor to students with last names A-E & Y-Z

Hi, my name is Vikram Dharasker and I am a senior here at UC Riverside majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. I transferred to UC Riverside last year from Foothill Community College in Los Altos Hills which is located in the bay area. Generally, when I am not studying for classes I enjoy going to the gym or grabbing a bite to eat around campus! Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions that you may have. I look forward to communicating with you throughout the school year.

Sam Fitzsimmons - Mentor to students with last names F-K & U-X

Hi there, my name is Sam Fitzsimmons! I am 4th year transfer student from Cerritos College majoring in Business Administration and concentrating in Marketing. When I'm not studying, I like to spend my time thinking about why I'm not studying... I kid! My hobbies include: cooking, reading, working out, and contemplating life's big questions like, "What's for dinner?" and "What would I do for a Klondike bar?". Altogether, I'm a pretty easy-going guy who loves good, authentic conversations, and so if you see me on campus, feel free to give a friendly hello!

Daniel Fomin

Daniel Fomin - Mentor to students with last names L-O & T

Hey, I'm Daniel Fomin, a senior concentrating in Finance. Before coming to Riverside, I lived in the East Bay Area, and I've had a chance to live across a great deal of the country. Through the Highlander Venture Group club on campus, I participate heavily in the Riverside entrepreneurial community and, calling on my background in management consulting, offer pro bono consulting services to start-up and mom-and-pop businesses. I enjoy writing, fencing, hunting for good restaurants, and just about anything that can be done with other people around a table. Feel free to reach out to me by e-mail or during my office hours, and I'm happy to help out, advise, or just chat!

Lily Luu - Mentor to students with last names P-S

Hello, my name is Lily Luu and I am majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing. Last year, I transferred from Mt. San Jacinto College where I was involved in the Honors Enrichment Program and Phi Theta Kappa. At UCR, I am a member of Gamma Beta Phi and a Transfer Mentor. Through the Transfer Mentor Program, I hope to help my fellow transfer students transition from community college to university. This summer I was a Hotel Operations Intern for Morongo Casino Resort and Spa. My interests include hospitality, sales, real estate, and advertising. In my free time, I enjoy sewing clothes and painting.
