Student Organizations

Student organizations provide students an opportunity to interact both socially and professionally outside the classroom with other students who share the same interests. By participating in student organizations, students can develop interpersonal and leadership skills – soft-skills that are crucial to develop and hone before entering the job market. In addition, research in higher education shows that students who participate in extracurricular activities study more, earn higher GPAs, and are more satisfied with their educational and social experiences.

UCR offers more than 400 student organizations. They are broken down into 8 different categories:

  1. Academic organizations
  2. Arts and expressions
  3. Cultural organizations
  4. Fraternity/sorority
  5. Political/action
  6. Recreational
  7. Service
  8. Spiritual/Religious organizations.
