Haibo Liu

Assistant Professor of Management

Haibo’s research focuses on innovation and organizational learning with an emphasis on extreme performance. Specifically, he examines extremely successful and near-failure performance in two settings: product design and franchising. His paper has won the finalist of Best Student Paper Award in the Technology and Innovation Management Division and was nominated for the Carolyn Dexter Award at the Academy of Management Annual Conference in 2013.

Haibo received his Ph.D. in Management from INSEAD. He obtained a Master Degree in Technological Design jointly offered by the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Eindhoven University of Technology. He also holds a B. Eng in Electrical Engineering (First Class Honours) from NUS. Haibo has worked as an academic staff in a tertiary institution in Singapore before commencing his PhD study. Prior to joining academia, Haibo worked as a R&D and product design engineer in the semiconductor industry. Haibo was born in China and has studied and lived in Singapore from 1998 to 2015.
